The need for energy efficiency is no longer limited to the industrial world. There is an ongoing effort to increase energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of all buildings, from multi-story housing to commercial and industrial facilities. In order to accomplish this, people often invest in solar panels. Unfortunately, a majority of these investments fail to produce optimal results since they can only cover 30 to 40 percent of energy requirements. This is not sufficient for ensuring seamless operations or achieving cost-efficiency and decarbonization objectives.
This is where
Windgiant Energy GmbH transforms the paradigm. The company offers efficient wind power solutions for the energy transition, climate protection, and long-term energy supply security. Windgiant’s wind turbine towers and double turbines enable power generation with one or more rooftop-mounted twin turbines, depending on the wind location.
Windgiant’s solutions play a key role in empowering the green structures of the future. Its wind turbine towers generate 30kW, 60kW, 120kW, or 200kW, and are capable of addressing the energy needs of both small buildings and large industrial-level facilities.

“Windgiant was built upon our extensive experience with fluidic and electrotechnical processes in hydroelectric plants. This enables us to develop flow accelerating and vortex-forming double turbine and wind turbine tower technology,” says Gerhard Wieser, CEO, Windgiant Energy GmbH.
A Compact and Efficient Design to Meet a Wide Range of Needs
Windgiant’s turbines have the capability to accelerate the flow of wind speed - 1 m/sec to 15 m/sec up to 200 percent for double turbines and up to 300 percent for wind turbine towers. This flow acceleration results in an improved power curve of 3.5 m/ sec to 12 m/sec at rated operating power. The company also makes use of the annual wind occurrence between 1 m/sec and 3.5 m/sec for energy generation, which is between 15 and 25 percent per year based on location.

Through its innovative products, Windgiant dramatically increases on-site energy generation. The company achieves this by offering the potential of full operating hours generated from 1 m/sec to 3.5 m/sec, as well as the use of wind potential from 13 m/sec to 15 m/sec for energy production. This also allows for a reduction in the carbon footprint and the economic payback timeline. The structures have a construction height of 13 to 26 meters and noise levels below 45 dB(A) at a two meter distance.
In addition to maximizing energy generation, Windgiant increases the lifespan of turbines. The double-turbine drive technology is not directly exposed to the weather due to the annular shroud, which plays a vital role in extending the service life. The double turbine technology is mounted on the wind turbine towers close to the ground, making it more accessible and reducing annual service and maintenance costs. All Windgiant wind turbine towers and double-turbines can be remotely monitored to improve asset protection.
Windgiant’s wind turbine towers have an additional safety control system. On each double turbine, the wind flow supply is controlled via a hydraulic, horizontal, lifting cylinder wind lock gate. Depending on the wind speed, the wind flow supply to each turbine is regulated via the SPS control and the lock gate.

“From 12 m/sec to 15 m/sec strong wind, the wind lock gate closes in stages between 15 percent and 50 percent for further controlled and safe wind power operation in strong winds. When the wind speed drops to 11-12 m/sec, the wind lock gate opens and the double turbine is switched on. The double safety control concept is based on the combination of wind power and water power control technology that has been used successfully for decades,” says Wieser.
While developing the turbines, Windgiant simulates test series with 2,700 to 7,000 calculation repetitions (iterations) and logs them for evaluation, aligning with stringent regulations. This is done using 3D computational fluid dynamic (CFD) software programs. The calculation parameters are evaluated for the energy performance achieved at the various wind speeds.
The individual turbine components are manufactured in a vacuum process using the classic technique for glass fiber- and carbon fiber-based turbine components. The components are gradually bonded after processing, incorporating negative molds. After completion, the manufactured turbines are tested for exact concentricity and, if necessary, precisely balanced by means of injection.
Modular Water Condensation Technology
Windgiant has the capability to customize the turbine towers for multiple use cases. For industrial enterprises, Windgiant offers turbine towers of 400 kW with a maximum permissible construction height of 35 meters and wind turbine towers with 800 kW and 1.6 MW to wind farms in forested regions.
Windgiant’s modular technology enables water security with a parallel supply of fresh service water and clean water for humans and animals. Water extraction is done by condensation process from the airflow, from 10° C to 50° C. For each m3 of air flow, between 1 g and 3 g of humidity is extracted naturally. The motorized fans of the double turbines enable a continuously regulated wind flow, which is essential for water production even in the complete absence of wind. Energy supply for the motorized turbine operation in windless conditions is provided by the public grid or by integrated energy storage technologies. The condensate water is drained and collected in water basins for further use, such as irrigation.

We ensure effective protection measures against acute climate warming, increasing dryness, and drought periods to maximize agricultural crop yields,” says Wieser.
Windgiant’s turbines are also gaining traction in smart city projects and multi-story buildings, where energy efficiency is the priority. The company has architected the 15kW double turbine for homes to ensure optimum and trouble-free operation of the domestic power supply.

Windgiant’s innovation is powered by German and Austrian partners. The company has adopted the Safety, Efficient, Longevity, and Service-Saving (SELS) formula, which has always been at the forefront of its design strategy.
In the coming years, Windgiant’s goal is to enhance the capabilities of its turbines and make them available for a wider variety of use cases. The company believes that the efficient use of wind power can help the world deal with many of its energy issues at large scale. Windgiant is promising a feasible way forward to a sustainable future for civilization with the right utilization of wind power. It plans to make more strategic investments in technology and people to continue to facilitate innovation.
